The flexors digitorum superficialis and profundus are stretched with full extension of the fingers #2-5 as well as full extension of the wrist and elbow joints.

The flexors digitorum superficialis and profundus are stretched with full extension of the fingers #2-5 as well as full extension of the wrist and elbow joints.

    Note:

    • The optimal stretch for the flexor digitorum profundus is to stretch the fingers across all their joints: metacarpophalangeal, proximal interphalangeal, and distal interphalangeal joints.
    • In comparison, the optimal stretch for the flexor digitorum superficialis is to slacken the fingers at the distal interphalangeal joints, and therefore stretch them only across the metacarpophalangeal and proximal interphalangeal joints.
