- The abductor pollicis longus, extensor pollicis brevis, extensor pollicis longus, and extensor indicis are member of the deep distal four group of the posterior forearm.
- The supinator is deep in the proximal posterior forearm.
- The abductor pollicis longus, extensor pollicis brevis, and extensor pollicis longus all attach onto and move the thumb (“pollicis” means “thumb”).
- The extensor indicis attaches onto and moves the index finger.
- The abductor pollicis longus, extensor pollicis brevis, extensor pollicis longus, and extensor indicis also cross the wrist joint.
- The supinator crosses the radioulnar joints and supinates the forearm.
- The anatomic snuffbox is located between the distal tendons of the extensor pollicis brevis and extensor pollicis longus.
