    The right-side upper trapezius is stretched with flexion, left lateral flexion, and right rotation of the head and neck at the spinal joints. Note that the right shoulder girdle is stabilized downward.

     

    Note: In effect, the upper trapezius is stretched with flexion, opposite-side (contralateral) lateral flexion, and same-side (ipsilateral) rotation.

     

    The right-side upper trapezius is stretched with flexion, left lateral flexion, and right rotation of the head and neck at the spinal joints. Note that the right shoulder girdle is stabilized downward.
