    Stretching the hyoid group of muscles involves extending and opposite-side laterally flexing the head and neck at the spinal joints, with the mandible elevated (the jaw closed).

     

    The hyoid group is composed of the:

    • sternohyoid
    • sternothyroid
    • thyrohyoid
    • omohyoid
    • digastric
    • stylohyoid
    • mylohyoid
    • geniohyoid
